Frequently Asked Questions & Information
What is coaching and how does it differ from consulting?
Coaching and consulting are often put into the same category but they are actually quite different.
Coaching is an interactive process that helps you develop in a rapid way to produce more satisfying results. Coaching can cover many areas of your life, business or specific goals. As a result of coaching, clients set better goals, take action, make better decisions, and more fully use their natural strengths.
Coaching is a method of questioning and strategizing that assists another person to think more clearly, gain a better perspective and focus more effectively on their goals. It provides the tools to enhance the process of accomplishment and offers the client accountability for their actions.
Professional coaches are trained to listen and observe, to customize their approach to the individual client’s needs, and to elicit solutions and strategies from the client. They believe that the client is naturally creative and resourceful and that the coach’s job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that the client already has. While the coach provides feedback and an objective perspective, the client is responsible for taking the steps to produce the results he or she wants.
Consulting is more about having a specialized area of expertise and then sharing knowledge, strategies, and tactics with their clients. A consultant should have hands-on, real-world experience and often save their clients time and money by sharing right-to-the-point ideas, resources, and clear steps while helping them avoid mistakes and problems.
Most of the time I operate as a coach with my clients. However, when needed or requested, I’m able to shift to “consultant mode”. As a former Professional EOSā“‡ business coach, I offer strategic business advice and practical tools for scaling, culture, vision, data, meetings, marketing, and leadership. I also strive to be a resource for my clients. I have an extensive database of experts whom I can refer to my clients as needed.
Why do people hire a coach or a consultant?
People hire a coach when they are ready for a personal or professional breakthrough. Whether they want to grow their business, make a career transition, reevaluate their life choices, or simply feel stuck and don’t know why.
My specialty is working with people who want to take action and stay focused on achieving a big goal. I work with people who want to get more out of their life or business; more growth, more time, more quality relationships, more satisfaction and deeper fulfillment.
What are your coaching fees?
My individual coaching & consulting fee depends on the scope of work and how much time we work together.
I work with a limited number of individual clients at any one time to ensure that each client gets the most value and individualized attention.

I’m not sure if I can afford it.

What if I don't live local?
If you are looking for a Coach to work with virtually or in person, Jill can help you reach new heights of success and connection.
Jill has worked with clients across the states. All of Jill’s coaching programs are designed to be conducted either in person, online, or a hybrid.
We’re living in a new era where people are working remotely, teams are dispersed, and individuals and businesses are continually looking for ways to work without sacrificing human connection.
Connection matters. When you can engage on a deeply human level, have the tough conversations that need to be had, recognize and uplift your own value and the value in others, you create trust, cultivate cooperation, and open new pathways for success. Best of all, you can now achieve that connection in a virtual environment.
The amazing thing about today’s technology is that it empowers us to connect across so many divides, one of them being physical distance. It’s time to fully embrace the tools and resources available to us in the virtual world so that nothing can hold us back from bringing the best of ourselves forward.
Here's how it works:
- One-on-one sessions will ideally be held over a video by Zoom, Teams, or a similar system. Phone calls may be used when video isn’t an option, but video is preferred as it allows for enhanced communication. Video often empowers a stronger connection between coach and client in building trust.
- For online group coaching, your coach will notify the group and work with you to determine the ideal tool for connecting. The tool(s) will depend on factors such as the size of the group, style of coaching and objective
What if I prefer to meet in person?
Jill welcomes in-person sessions at her spacious office, too!
How long do you work with your clients?
There is a multitude of factors that determine how long an individual remains in coaching. As a benchmark, I recommend an initial commitment to a ten-week program with one session per week. A coaching relationship develops over time, and there are no magic bullets to fast track enduring success. Occasionally, new or returning clients hire me for a specific project or for unlimited periods of time.
What do you see as the most powerful aspect of your coaching?
As a coach, I don't just hear what the client is saying. I attune to the non-verbal and deeper meaning beyond the words and ask thought provoking questions to get to the truth. The client-coach relationship by nature is an intimate one. Clients often share their deepest vulnerabilities. My commitment is to hold a safe, judgement-free, confidential, space for the client.
Three specific areas that clients benefit from coaching are in learning how to channel human energy, staying focused on what really matters, and taking authentic action with more courage and confidence.
I believe that fear and lack of focus are the two biggest obstacles that hold people back from getting what they really want…in life and in business. I've adapted transformational tools and methods to help clients overcome fear, take action and stay focused as they move towards their most important goals.
How do you help people create support and better results in their lives?
Coaching is based on support. One of the ways I help people get better results is to show them how to use coaching as a tool for support. As they learn how to best work with their own coach they learn how to create supportive partnerships with their co-workers, families, and friends. I also show people how they operate with themselves. This allows them to take a “meta-view” of their life. They can step back and say things like, “ahh, now I can see how I could do this more efficiently and with less struggle”.
What does a coaching session look like?
During our introduction call, we will discuss the most productive options that would work best for you. The steps after that are the proposal, a signed coaching agreement, payment processing, and welcome form to schedule your first official session!
